With the HDMI display extended, the output opens on it automatically (allow “manage windows” once when Chrome asks). Click the output once to enter full screen. Keep this controller open.

Display controls

Native mode requires 100% OS scaling and browser zoom, plus a matching processor crop. Fit mode leaves unused screen space black. Fill mode is deliberately distorted on a normal monitor; use only when the processor maps the entire input frame to the 8:1 LED.

Prices are USD; XAU is USD per troy ounce. Nasdaq uses index points. No sample prices are loaded. Manual quotes are always labelled MANUAL.

Crypto: Coinbase Exchange product statistics, refreshed every 30 seconds. Percentage is the change from the provider’s 24-hour open. A successful fetch is labelled FETCHED, not an exchange real-time guarantee. Gold and Nasdaq require manual quotes in this version.

Connect to the LED

  1. Open this downloaded file in Chrome or Edge on your laptop. Connect laptop HDMI → NovaStar HDMI input → LED cabinets.
  2. Set Windows display mode to Extend (Win + P). On Mac, extend the displays in System Settings.
  3. Click Open HDMI output. Chrome/Edge asks once to “manage windows on all your displays” — allow it, then click again if the window didn’t open. The output opens sized to the LED display; click it once for full screen. Press Esc to exit.
  4. Select Cabinet test. Your technician should map the screen to 1536 × 192 pixels, with eight numbered cabinets left to right. Confirm no cropping, gaps or reversed order.
  5. Choose the layout to match the processor. Not every processor accepts a custom 1536 × 192 HDMI timing. A supported 1920 × 1080 input with the appropriate crop/scaling is another option, depending on the model.
  6. Turn off Cabinet test. Disable laptop sleep and notifications for the show.

Internet access is required for automatic crypto quotes. Network, CORS or provider errors leave the feed visibly unavailable or stale; the app never fabricates a price. The laptop’s output and your physical LED mapping must be tested onsite.

All controls run locally. Settings and manual quotes are stored in this browser when storage is available. Fetched quotes are not persisted. If a local-file browser policy blocks live requests, serve this folder locally with python -m http.server 8080 --bind 127.0.0.1 and open http://127.0.0.1:8080/LED-Ticker.html.
